Pelosi's House is Out of Order
Dear Friends,

President Joe Biden’s reckless tax-and-spend spree is in jeopardy after House Democrats were forced to delay votes (YET AGAIN) because they can't stop fighting with each other! First, a vote was promised last Thursday. Then, a vote was promised last Friday with Speaker Pelosi declaring, "There'll be a vote today." But like anything from Pelosi, it was not to be trusted.

Pelosi cannot get her house in order!

Fortunately for the American people, and all our wallets, the House NEVER voted on the $1.2 TRILLION Green New Deal infrastructure package or the $4.3 TRILLION socialist reconciliation bill - despite President Biden’s desperate appearance to lobby for both bills on Capitol Hill. This humiliating blow to Democrats confirms that they are in fact in DISARRAY. Not even the sitting president can get his own party under control.

What's terrifying is that the radical Left will not stop at ANY cost to shove their agenda down the throats of the American people. Even when Members of their OWN party disagree with their radical spending proposals, they follow them into bathrooms to harass them, or they show up to their own private homes. But that's the radical Left for you, and President Biden sides with them saying it's, "part of the process," all because he is too spineless to stand up for Members of his OWN party.

Despite the infighting within the Democratic Party, Biden and Pelosi are still falsely claiming their plan cost $0 dollars. $5,500,000,000,000 ≠ $0 - that's eleven zeros folks - but it's clear that they’ve never had to balance a checkbook like the rest of us.

The truth is their $5.5 TRILLION package is the largest tax increase and the largest spending package in American history. They want to bankrupt our nation, strip away our individual liberties, and turn American into a socialist welfare state.

We must STOP their radical proposals before they Green New Deal America to death!

Hice on the Homefront
On Monday, I hosted an educational event with school superintendents, media specialists, school board members, and Georgia legislators. The two-hour program highlighted some of the dangerous, abusive, and pornographic material being placed in front of students, and how they can implement policies to ensure safe school libraries. Thank you to Noelle Kahaian, president of Protect Student Health Georgia, and former State School Superintendent Dr. John Barge for leading this vital discussion.

Tax Filing and Payment Extension Deadline Reminder

If you requested an extension to file your 2020 tax returns, the October 15th deadline is quickly approaching! To avoid the penalty for filing late, there are electronic filing options, such as the IRS Free File. Additionally, the electronic payment options are the best way to make a tax payment, and IRS Direct Pay allows taxpayers to pay online directly from a checking or savings account for free.

You can view your online account for important information regarding your taxes, including estimated tax amounts and Economic Impact Payment amounts. As a reminder, if you did not receive the full amounts of both Economic Impact Payments, you may claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 federal tax return. Additionally, if you have not yet filed your 2020 taxes, the IRS is using previous year tax information to determine Child Tax Credit payments for those eligible, but they will use your 2020 taxes to update payment amounts.

To receive tax refunds, you can set them up using direct deposit to deposit the refund into one, two, or three accounts. Individuals who wait too long to file risk losing their refund altogether. Make sure to file by October 15th!

Honoring the Life of Lee Walden

Last night, our community tragically lost Lee Walden, a registered nurse and frontline healthcare hero for over 15 years. Lee was a selfless citizen who went above and beyond to help sick and injured patients in the emergency room of University Hospital McDuffie. He faithfully and tirelessly served our community each day of this pandemic, and I was honored to recognize him as the Hice Headliner last March for his outstanding work in our community.

Lee was a shining light in so many people's lives, and our community was truly blessed to have him. Please join me in praying for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
