WASHINGTON - An utterly disturbing report recently released found that the government was tracking citizens’ locations during the pandemic. Specifically, targeting folks attending their houses of worship.
And they did so on the taxpayer’s dime! That’s right, the report alleged that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has spent over $420,000 to obtain the location data from a broker company called SafeGraph.
Make no mistake, this is a gross violation of Americans’ right to privacy and their freedom to worship. It is unsettling that the government would think it appropriate to track the location of individuals—using THEIR hard-earned dollars.
I led 39 of my colleagues on a letter to CDC Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, demanding to know just what in the world the CDC was trying to accomplish. These deliberate spy tactics cannot be tolerated. The CDC exists to serve the people, not the other way around.
The Biden Administration needs to stop obsessing about whether people are gathering for church and start focusing on the real crisis’ that Americans are facing. From inflation, to the border, to the baby formula shortage, to the energy crisis, and so on, there is a multitude of problems that need the attention of the President.
