Newton County Restaurant Owner Receives Hice Headliner Award
During the June 22nd meeting of the Rotary Club of Covington, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) presented the Hice Headliner Award for the month of June to Brad Stewart, owner of Bradley’s BBQ. Last year in the Covid-19 pandemic, Brad teamed up with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency as well as the local Kiwanis and Rotary clubs to provide countless meals to local first responders, doctors' offices, and hospital staff.
“Since opening its doors in 1999, Bradley’s BBQ has built a reputation for great food and quality service while standing as a strong community advocate,” said Congressman Hice. “Brad Stewart was previously presented with the Small Business Employer of the Year Award from the Newton County Chamber in 2019. He has served his community well, especially during the pandemic, and I am proud to have had the opportunity to meet him and present him with this award.”
Each month, Congressman Hice recognizes one outstanding local citizen who goes above and beyond to help their neighbors and strengthen our community. To nominate an outstanding individual, please send an email to Jessica.Hayes@mail.house.gov.

Help with a Federal Agency
One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help people with federal problems. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a person’s behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Please know that I cannot force an agency to act in favor of a constituent. However, I can help communicate the circumstances and request that they take appropriate actions to assist you.
