Baldwin County Resident Receives Hice Headliner Award
Milledgeville, GA – On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) awarded the first “Hice Headliner” of the year to Tasha Pounds of Baldwin County, the manager of Johnnie McDade’s Grocery, a full-service grocery store and meat market in Milledgeville. Tasha began her career there as a cashier 23 years ago – she had no idea back then that one day she would be serving her community on the frontlines of a global pandemic.
“During COVID-19, Tasha has continued to work and provide citizens with a safe and healthy shopping experience,” said Congressman Hice. “From taking extra precautions to sanitize the store to keeping high-demand products in stock and on the shelves, Tasha has helped to ensure that community members have what they need during these unprecedented times. We are proud to recognize Tasha Pounds, one of our extraordinary citizens, for her service to her community, and we thank all those who have risen to the challenge and continued to perform essential services during these challenging times.”

Help with a Federal Agency
One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help people with federal problems. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a person’s behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Please know that I cannot force an agency to act in favor of a constituent. However, I can help communicate the circumstances and request that they take appropriate actions to assist you.
