Monroe, GA – In this week’s edition of his email newsletter, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) honored Dee Pelewski, the director of the Oglethorpe County Senior Citizen Center, as the “Hice Headliner” for the month of December. Each month, Congressman Hice recognizes one outstanding local citizen who goes above and beyond to help their neighbors and strengthen our community.

“I’m grateful for people like Dee Pelewski who provide seniors with meals, activities, transportation, and other important services,” said Congressman Hice. “While she gladly serves throughout the year, this Christmas season, Dee and volunteers go the extra mile to deliver gifts to each member of the Oglethorpe County Senior Center. Thank you, Dee, for working long hours and driving countless miles on rural roads to ensure that seniors are cared for. You’re making Christmas a little merrier for many in our community.”

To nominate an outstanding individual who is making a positive impact in your community, please send an email to Jessica.Hayes@mail.house.gov.

Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help people with federal problems. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a person’s behalf to answer questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Please know that I cannot force an agency to act in favor of a constituent. However, I can help communicate the circumstances and request that they take appropriate actions to assist you.
