Out of an abundance of caution, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) has entered a 14-day quarantine after learning that his friend and colleague, Rep. Louie Gohmert, tested positive for coronavirus and that a second individual, with whom he recently came into contact, has developed COVID-19 symptoms and is awaiting test results.

Following the counsel of the Office of Attending Physician, Congressman Hice and his D.C. staff will be proceeding under the assumption that they have been exposed to the coronavirus and are adhering to CDC guidelines by working remotely and social distancing.

“I strongly believe it is important for Congress to fully get back to work – and that requires us as individuals to be responsible and take appropriate actions when necessary, as I believe it is now,” said Congressman Hice. “I’m feeling fine and I haven’t experienced any symptoms but, after consulting with medical professionals, I will be taking precautionary steps to work remotely and social distance from folks for the next two weeks. I wish everyone a speedy recovery, and I look forward to seeing them in person in 15 days.”

Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
