Rep. Hice Honors Athens Resident
Athens, GA – In this week’s edition of his email newsletter, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) honored Beverly Powell as the “Hice Headliner” for the month of October. Each month, he recognizes one outstanding local citizen who goes above and beyond to help their neighbors and strengthen our community.
As a resident of Athens, Powell regularly takes the road for the Meals on Wheels program at the Athens Community Council on Aging. She has been delivering hot meals to homes for nearly 15 years – first in Conyers, now in Athens after relocating with her husband about five years ago. Her love for the program all began when her father-in-law, a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels, passed away.
“In an effort to carry on his legacy of kindness and generosity, Mrs. Powell goes above and beyond when volunteering, forming personal relationships with the recipients and becoming invested in their lives,” said Congressman Hice. “We’re certainly lucky to have her as a constituent in the 10th District!”

Help with a Federal Agency
One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.Casework Authorization Form
