In Case You Missed It… Protecting free speech rights through tax reform The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act accomplishes the goal of ensuring that all Americans, no matter their jobs, are treated equally under the law By Rep. Jody Hice President Theodore Roosevelt remarked in a 1910 address to the Iowa State Teachers’ Association that “nothing in this world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty.” In developing the first comprehensive tax revision in three decades, it take...

Washington, D.C. – For months now, tax relief and tax reform have been front and center in Congress, and this week, we moved it one step closer toward the finish line. On Thursday, the House passed H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, to simplify and modernize our unwieldy tax code. I’d like to take this opportunity to explain some of the ways that this new bill will help folks in Georgia, in addition to some of the amendments I’ve been fighting to include in the tax package. With key provisions l...

Washington, D.C. – There is no institution in this world that commands such unwavering respect as the United States military. Veterans Day is a day of national remembrance — a special occasion to honor all the men and women in uniform, past and present, who took up arms in defense of our great Nation. It is our duty as Americans — not just on Veterans Day, but every day — to remember the sacrifices they’ve made and to make certain that our commitments to them and to their families are honored. I...

Help with a Federal Agency
One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
