In Case You Missed It… Time is up, let's build the wall December 13, 2018 By Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) Serving in “the people’s house,” my fellow representatives and I have a particularly direct charge: As the closest federal branch to the public, we in particular should reflect the will of the public in our actions. While some important progress has been made in the past two years under the leadership of President Trump and a unified Republican government, like the historic overhaul of our tax syst... Read more

Washington, D.C. – In light of the grievous terror attack in New York earlier this week – perpetrated by a terrorist who entered the country through the Diversity Visa Program – it’s becoming more evident that our flawed immigration system needs to be addressed. Let me start by expressing my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families who were impacted by this horrific act of violence. I’m keeping all those affected in my prayers, and we need to be mindful of this event as we move fo... Read more

Washington, D.C. – Representative Jody Hice (R-GA) today commented on the Department of Justice’s announcement regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, commonly known as DACA: “In creating the DACA program, President Obama self-admittedly exceeded his executive authority. President Trump is correct to restore the Constitutional prerogative of Congress to write our laws and bring clarity to our Nation’s immigration policy. “I agree with the President that phasing down this pro... WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Jody Hice (R-GA) today voted to advance two measures designed to improve the enforcement of America’s immigration laws and enhance public safety. H.R. 3003, the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, strengthens current law to combat reckless sanctuary cities that shield unlawful, criminal aliens from federal immigration enforcement. H.R. 3003 will also empower the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to stem the f... Read more

Washington, D.C. – Illegal immigration is not a new problem. It’s one of the primary issues that I came to Washington to solve. For too long, we’ve seen cities and municipalities unilaterally enact policies that directly contradict federal law, providing safe havens for people who are in our country unlawfully. This is simply unacceptable. With President Trump in the White House and a Republican majority in Congress, we now have a real chance to make meaningful and tangible changes to our broken... In Case You Missed It… A Debt of Gratitude By Rep. Jody Hice As we gather this Memorial Day at backyard barbecues, sunny beaches, and local parks, it’s important to reflect on the reason that we observe this special day: To honor and remember our fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for our nation. The debt of gratitude we owe each of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice is a debt that cannot be repaid, a debt we should acknowledge not only on Memorial Day, but every day. Every day tha... Part of my duty as your Congressman is to introduce legislation that benefits the people of Georgia’s Tenth Congressional District and our Nation. This week, I introduced two new measures: the Fairness in Firearms Testing Act and the Nuclear Family Priority Act. As many of you may know, I am a proud member of the National Rifle Association of America, a lifelong sportsman, and a gun owner. I strongly believe that our Second Amendment right to bear arms is one of the most fundamental and importan... Read more

Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Hice released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s 4-4 split decision in the United States v. Texas case: “Time after time, the President has ignored the separation of powers and the role of Congress to legislate. Today’s decision by the Supreme Court was a victory and a reminder that the President and his Administration cannot unilaterally rewrite our Nation’s immigration laws. These executive actions clearly exceed his Constitutional a... Read more

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) issued the following statement in regard to the Syrian refugee program in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Paris: “As I returned to Washington today, I observed that our flags have been lowered at half-staff to honor our fallen friends and allies in France. While we honor and express solidarity with the victims, we are also reminded that we honor them not by letting terrorists dictate our way of life but by being vigilant as we carry ... Read more

Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
