The headlines have been filled with toppled, vandalized, and targeted statues over the past few weeks, including those of founding presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. But these aren’t the only efforts to tear down physical representations of our history. This week, the Party of Jefferson — or rather what it has turned into — is targeting another tangible legacy of the Founders’ vision: the federal district of Washington, D.C. To put it simply, Democrats’ current bill for D.C. sta... Read more

  • REP. JODY HICE: End Racism – Not The Police

In the days since George Floyd’s tragic and horrifying death, America has been rocked by an unprecedented rush of anger, frustration, anxiety and fear. Even in the midst of this turmoil, we can look in the mirror and confidently remind ourselves that the United States of America remains the greatest nation in the world. But, like all great societies, we have dark sins swept under the rug. The ultimate evil of those sins is racism and, even as past generations made painfully slow but nonetheless... Read more

  • Rep. Jody Hice: Confront old sins, return to God, and reject racism

Frederick Douglass in 1847 defined a true patriot as a “lover of his country who rebukes and does not excuse its sins.” To love America genuinely, we cannot sweep our problems under the rug. We must acknowledge our national sins and actively work to right these wrongs. Nearly 200 years later, Douglass’s wisdom rings true. The tragic death of George Floyd has brought our nation’s sins to the forefront. My heart broke watching the appalling video of Floyd’s slow and agonizing last moments as he st... Read more

  • Why is Biden getting a free pass on sexual assault allegations? Abortion.

Why is Biden getting a free pass on sexual assault allegations? Abortion. The handling of sexual assault allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden once again has exposed the fundamental insincerity of the Left and its allies in the liberal media. When they’re put to the test and forced to judge one of their own, Democrats have shown that they don’t measure up to their supposed moral standards. In truth, they only have double standards: one for themselves and one for everyone else. Let... Read more

Someone Must Be Held Accountable Every crisis has a self-reflection point. Six weeks into the coronavirus pandemic, we now have data and information available. We have seen the face of the enemy. Tragically, lives have been lost to the virus, but many victims have survived, and even more Americans have remained healthy through it all. It is time to begin examining what we have done and whether, with the benefit of hindsight, we were right to do it. As I reflect, I come to an inescapable conclus... Read more

Unprecedented Safety Measures Today May Threaten Liberty Tomorrow To combat the coronavirus pandemic, extraordinary measures are being implemented at all levels of government. From shelter-in-place orders to financial assistance to managing medical supply chains, government is playing a larger role in American life today than most of us have ever seen. In these uncertain times, government is in the driver's seat, monitoring our lives and determining our futures. Many of the policies now dominat... Read more

America’s Greatest Weapon Against Pandemic Fear Americans are fighting a battle against more than one invisible enemy. We are combatting not merely the germs of the coronavirus pandemic, but also the fear and anxiety that accompany such a contagious illness. They have begun to seep into our national consciousness. You can see it in the relentless stream of negative news, read it on our friends’ social media posts, and even sense it on our desolate streets. Many of our fellow Americans are frigh... Read more

  • Rep. Jody Hice: How the media subtly vilifies the pro-life movement
Posted in Columns on January 30, 2020 | Preview rr

It should come as no surprise that the media misleads through pithy soundbites and flashy headlines on a daily basis. We’ve all seen it and, maybe, on occasion, fallen victim to this misinformation. Rhetoric matters. It determines the outcome of debates and shapes public perception of key policy issues. However, one of the greatest deceptions that has been put before the public is the idea that “pro-life” is synonymous simply with “anti-abortion.” When searching for “pro-life,” the Google resul... The Peach State is on the rise, and our economy and job market could not be better. In August, we recorded over 7 million job openings in America, more than the number of people out of work. Unemployment is well below 4%, hourly earnings have risen 3.4% over the past year, and Georgia is once again the top state for business – for the sixth year running. As economic gains continue at a healthy pace as we enter fall, records just keep getting broken. The Trump economy has created an environment w... Read more

As voters watch Democrats duke out their differences in the presidential primary, one common thread appears to unite their party: an utter lack of regard for individual freedoms. Democrats want to grow the scope and size of government, taking control of your healthcare, your firearms, and even your pocketbook. The unyielding dedication to the protection and advancement of the liberties that made America great continues to make our nation great today. While coastal elitists from both parties may ... Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
