The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review the page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Service Academy NominationService Academy Brochure, and sign-up for my quarterly Service Academy Newsletter

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Congressman Hice may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district. To request a Military Academy Nomination from our office, please complete the 2020 Service Academy Application and send all pertinent information to the address below. To learn more about the application process, join me for Service Academy Day at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. Students, parents, and guidance counselors are invited to attend to receive a comprehensive overview of the U.S. Service Academies and the respective admissions processes. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with officials from the academies and representatives from my congressional office. This year’s event is on Saturday, August 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Goldstein Center for the Performing Arts Auditorium. Come learn how you may receive a world-class education at one of our Nation’s prestigious Service Academies. To register for Service Academy Day, please send an email to GA10Noms@mail.house.gov by Tuesday, August 25th. Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country.

Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
