ICYMI Hice: You can't have law and order if you don't have law enforcement.
Posted by on July 15, 2020

This morning Congressman Jody Hice joined Fox & Friends First to discuss the letter he headlined, along with 8 of his Oversight Republican colleagues, to three of the country’s Leftist mayors; Frey, Garcetti, and de Blasio.

“These are mayors who are leading the charge to defund the police, to perhaps to even dismantle police departments all together, and you know the result of that will be disastrous, as we watch the erosion of public safety,” said Hice.

“We wrote a letter [to the mayors of Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis] demanding some answers to some things like: what kind of assurance do you have that persons and property will be protected? Who did you consult for these types of things? What will be the outcome for police departments to respond in a timely manner? What about investigations, how will they continue?

“We have a whole list of questions that we are demanding some answers for. It’s amazing these leaders of some of these cities have been able to move forward without any degree of accountability, and so we are trying to get accountability and answers. And hopefully be able to bring some up before the Oversight Committee for a hearing,”

“You know, you can’t have law and order without law enforcement—to take that away would be disastrous.”

Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important things I do as a U.S. Representative is help constituents work through issues with federal agencies. Although I cannot override the decisions made by a federal agency, I can often intervene on a constituent’s behalf to get answers to questions, find solutions, or just cut through the red tape. Below you will find a list of agencies with which I can help you. However, regardless of which agency you need help navigating, you must complete a privacy authorization form to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Please download this printable version of the casework authorization form and then fax or mail to the address listed under the agency from which you are seeking assistance.
